What “Golden Champion” Means

Golden Champion is our theme of the year at Big Brothers Big Sisters South Durham and Northumberland because we believe everyone has the power to make a difference in the life of a young person.

Being a champion means showing up in meaningful ways – as a mentor who offers guidance, a donor who supports local youth programs, a parent or guardian who reaches out, or a young person who continues to grow with confidence.

Together, every act of support helps create brighter futures through mentorship.
